shoes for the shoemaker

For a few months I was making my marks and scribbles in a sketchbook whose pages were cut and folded but not sewn together. The further I got into the book the less tenable writing on the loose folios became so finally I set aside a little time to bind the book.
I like the longstitch binding for sketchbooks for its handling properties (to start, the books can be opened 360 degrees) and possibilities for decorative needlework on the spines. It's also relatively quick. I stitched my last couple longstitch books (smaller, pocket-sized journals) using a tacket stitch and decided to do a little weaving this time.
