marbled paper

These are some hand marbled papers I have in the bindery, ready to be made into books. I bought them directly from the artist. The marbled pattern is not to scale as the photo is reduced. That is, the marbled patterns are larger in life than they appear in the photo. They make great covers or endpapers, or box linings (yes, I can make boxes too).

For ordering purposes, let's call them as follows (from left to right): brown, pink w/black, yellow w/red, red & blue, pink w/blue, yellow w/brown, party (I happen to know the name of that one, otherwise I might have said rainbow or spectrum).

I have one sheet of each (in some cases less than a full sheet) so if something strikes your fancy you may want to go ahead and claim it. One of these days I'll make a page for the site breaking down how commissions work - in the meantime please feel free to email (or call) and ask (link to the right for contacting me).

And here's something the marbled paper could adorn. Below are the lined paper journals I mentioned earlier, sewn onto tapes, spines lined, ready for endbands and covers of your choosing. I have silk and linen bookcloth on hand in colors to coordinate with most of those papers, and of course many more colors available to me. Each is 5¾" x 8¼" and has 112 sheets.

housekeeping

It'll be a little quiet here at the bindery blog as I finish up with my (financial) books and taxes. (Nothing like last minute, right? Well, I'm happy to report it's been difficult to pull myself away from more creative endeavors.)

I'm working on a new book that I don't want to post any more photos of until it's finished. As you might have guessed from the most recent photo, it uses the Indian account book structure. I'm pretty excited about it and I hope it turns out as I imagine. I will probably finish it in the week after tax day (or earlier if I get lucky with my paperwork) so please be sure to check back.

Happy spring!
